Consumed at brewery, 03/03/08.
Crystal clear medium yellow color. Some active carbonation kept the thin foam skin atop the beer replenished for quite a while.
No real aroma to speak of.
Flavor is wheat with nothing else to note except a little sweetness and a tinge of corn.
Developed an oxidized, cardboard flavor as it warmed.
Slightly thick mouthfeel.
Will not order again.

Menu states this is a German styled hefeweizen with banana and clove aroma and taste. Served in a standard pint glass *sigh* without any lemon wedge, though one was offered. Appearance was cloudy light apricot color topped by a modest foamy white head. Some minor lacing was deposited on the glass walls.
Smell: hmm, not much. More wheat and pale malts and some very faint spiciness. Banana aroma found in true German hefe is missing and the cloves are ghostly at best.
Taste: quite malty but lacking the signature flavors that stand out in a German hefeweizen. This attempt at the style just lacks the pop and flavor of a quality hefeweizen. Ephemeral fruitiness and spiciness. In a word: bland.
Feel: Thin, watery, and missing the bountiful carbonation so often seen in hefeweizens.
Overall, this hefe misses the mark. A real dumbed-down version tailored for those just getting weaned off of macros.
