My only slight criticism of this fine ale is the appearance
looks a bit too much like a festival beer rather than a polished cask ale
however that does lend a certain charm with its pitch black body and big bubbled foamy tan head.
Full on smoky roast on the aroma front
Big liquorice taste takes the majority of the flavour front tat takes me back to asking for "Spanish" with a great balance that gives a slightly sweet notes without being sickly and finishing with a swift bitterness without being overbearing.
The Mouthfeel is great solid but not heavy going with a low key carbonation
that is slightly deceptive to the massive abv.
I love liquorice so this this was an immense joy for me.
