Grunt fill at Albertsons. Sent in style correction. My first Sahti rating. Seems true to the style as listed. Medium dark amber pour with thick fluffy head. Malts all the way, and the juniper adding a touch of astringency and dryness. Slick mouth feel, goes down easy, and tasty to boot.

it sounds like this has kind of turned into their flagship beer here, which is pretty cool. a juniper pale ale is a rather ambitious beer for this role, but they are producing in real small batches here and for this size it seems to be working. the beer is excellent, definitely a little something different in the style, and my favorite of the two beers i had time for while i was in. its somewhat old school as they go, good and malty, some medium crystal to balance against the hops and the fresh juniper, which tastes to me more like the herbal medicinal little berries than it does the piney branches, but some elements of both seem present in this. light copper in color, frothy headed, and not quite fully clear in the glass. the hops are lightly piney in here too which works very well with the juniper, nicely selected there. the juniper is obvious here, but its not over the top, but one of a few elements in play. the malt is bready and lightly english to me, a touch of middle sweetness to it. the hops have good bitterness but help bring the juniper in as well, and with the herbal juniper this feels wintery and healthy, great proportions. a unique beer but also drinkable by the pint, which might be its greatest success. a well crafted beer here, one of the more compelling and jazzy pales ive had in awhile. bravo!

This is a real nice pale ale, great hop to malt balance and super smooth finish. Good stuff.

12oz pint consumed at the brewery's tasting room for $4. According to a friendly patron at the bar, this is Slate Creek's flagship beer. It's a pale ale brewed with juniper berries, and the brewery's signage indicated it had an abv percentage of 5.7, and had 24 IBUs.

Amber color, with a modest, off-white head.

Mild, piney hops and some very mild, tart juniper notes. Seems pretty mild and laid back without being insipid.

Very drinkable. Tastes like a nice, low-impact pale ale. The juniper flavor really only kicks in as an aftertaste, and it's not terribly high in the mix. The hops are there, but, again, it's a mild hoppiness.

Light-to-medium bodied, with good carbonation and a slightly oily mouthfeel.

A very drinkable beer, though not a flavor bomb by any means. I've had some beers brewed with Juniper berries that were JUNIPER ALES, but this is a mellow, non-hophead-geared pale ale that happens to have been brewed with juniper berries, and yes, there is a difference. This is a lot more pleasing to have repeated pints of, and would be easier to match with food. I'd have this again.
