Can from new leaf aptos. 20 days old.
Comes in 19.2oz can, which is cool.
Look: Ruby/amber. Clear. Minimal white head.
Smell: Rye bread, brown sugar.
Taste: rye malts really centered, accompanied by some tropical fruity sweet flavors. Mildly bitter.
Mouthfeel: medium, dry.
Overall: Better than expected. Kind of bought this because it was something local I hadn’t had before. Hops are weak but not bad overall. Kind of like a hoppy amber ale. Reminiscent of ipa’s 10 yrs ago. No Hop Rod Rye though. (One of the best I’ve had from Discretion though).

Pours an amber color, within a good head. Definitely can taste the malt which nicely balances the hops. This a very good beer and a nice change from more hoppy west coast IPAs,

Copper filtered with a little carbonation and 2 fingers of off white head.
Smells of oranges and grapefruit, malt and caramel, very soft and inviting.
Tastes of oranges with a hint of tart lemon, grapefruit pith and pine, ending in a slightly char like bitterness.
Medium to light body with moderate to low carbonation.
I got this in downtown Santa Cruz a few weeks back, and am drinking it in Redding, Feb 5th, 2019. Excellent rye ipa. So glad I found it.

Had a few at the brewery and around Santa Cruz at a couple different restaurants.
A little darker than your typical IPA but also a little spicier due to the rye. Interesting IPA with a bit more malt backbone while still retaining hop aroma. I could drink this again and again and again.

Picked up a Growler direct from the brewery (Discretion) Poured into a pint glass.
Orange-brown amber, looks and tastes different from our typical West Coast IPAs (awash with convention) ...
Crisp, dry caramel-infused boldness, with typical IPA characteristics; fruity-pine grapefruit,
with a tropical, sour-tang aftertaste.
Takes a wee bit to sink in, but once one gets a taste for Unk's Rye, (for me, half way through the first pint), it certainly
rocks the casbah!
