Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours a gorgeous dark brown with a good amount of tan head. Opaque. The nose is super smooth. Caramel, roasted malts, freshly-baked bread, and a faint hint of molasses. It is somewhat subtle.
The taste is super smooth and light. Immediately getting the roasted malts. It hits directly in the middle of sweet and bitter, with bitter dominating on the aftertaste. Rye bread, slight burnt toffee, and wood. Getting a slight hint of ashtray on the aftertaste as well.
Mouthfeel and overall: Light and refreshing. An easy drinker. Overall, this is definitely an interesting one. Isn't necessarily similar to many Schwarzbiers that I've tasted, but great nonetheless.

From a can in San Francisco at Sarah's house. Not over the top, and that's what I like about it. Pours a pretty Coca Cola brown. Tastes full and smooth and malty. The black comes in the aftertaste and is a nice balance to the malt. I wish I could take some home.

Dark ruby-brown & a Vigorous three finger head! Tuns of loud bubbles rising with equal Zeal.
Smells a dour, creamy malt, crispy-dank.
Taste follows nose. Not much to report, though far from my standard style.
I imagine it would go perfectly with some brown bread or those crisp rye crackers I half remember from day of yore ...
