On tap, served in a sampling glass during the "Beer and a Movie" of the Big Lebowski at the Little Art Theater in Yellow Springs.
Appearance: Dark brown with a thin light tan head. Some lacing.
Smell: Chocolate, molasses, a bit of smoke - deep rich flavors.
Taste: Very much like it smells - chocolate, smoke, wood, molasses, a bit of black coffee - sharp, but not strong bitterness that compliments everything very nicely.
Mouthfeel: Good carbonation, a bit sticky on the teeth, dry finish.
Overall / Drinkability: This is something I have to get a full glass of - it would pair really good with food, dessert, and would be a great glass to have at the end of a cold day. A great beer. I can see why this won a silver medal at the GABF several years ago.

I'm trying this at the brewery. It poured an opaque dark with ecru head that is leaving some lace. The scent had sweet malt and subtle smoke notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with earth, molasses and smoke presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a solid beer.

Beautiful broan color, decent head and lacing, prominent smoke on front with a beef stock quality, hearty taste but not overly heavy.
