Had this one on tap at Cincy Winter Beer Fest and was not disappointed. I knew I had to seek out Yellow Springs while I was here because I've never had a beer by these guys that wasn't awesome. This one was no different. Like their Prowler, this one poured pretty much jet black and had all the roasty, toasty smells and flavors that I look for in a standard ABV american stout. Flavor is complex - roasted malt with some charred grain and hints of coffee on the back end. For only being 6.5%, it stood up to some of the other imperial barrel-aged stouts that I had alongside it, no problem. Full, bubbly yet creamy mouthfeel, but not too thick. Near perfect for an American style stout. I don't think they bottle or can any of their beers, so I highly recommend stopping by this brewery if you're ever in Yellow Springs. If not, then see if it's on tap anywhere near southern Ohio!
