Dark cola appearance, got about an inch of tan colored foam. Pleasant aroma, malt leaning albeit muted. Taste was smooth that reflected the aroma. Easy drinking brew from Mellow Yellow Springs, Ohio. Recommend.

I like it. First brown ale I've really enjoyed. Usually go for PA, IPA or stouts. This brown ale makes me want to try more brown ales.

Dark, might have assumed it was a stout. Slightly sweet, chocolate, malty flavors. Nice long finish - balanced throughout.

Nice color. What I expect for flavor and a lighter brown ale. Overall good drink

I'm trying this on tap at Local Roots in Powell, OH. It poured an opaque dark with ercu head that is leaving a lace. The scent had sweet bread vibe. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. Rich chocolate malt and roast ever present. The mouthfeel was fuller in body with good carbonation. Overall I thought I was drinking a stout...but man this is a fantastic brown and can't believe this isn't rated higher.

16oz pour in a nonic glass at South Park Tavern:

Appearance: Very dark brown approaching black. 1/4" dense tan lead with lots of find strands of persistent lacing.

Smell: Cocoa powder and lots of roasted malt.

Taste: Very rich in roasted malt with come chocolate and coffee notes. English bitter finish with some herbal notes to it. Quite strong for an American Brown Ale - approaching stout character in roasted character and bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, a little chewy, a bit of a dry finish.

Overall / Drinkability: A very tasty and full bodied brown ale. As I described in the taste, this beer is approaching stout territory, and if I hadn't known it was a brown ale, I might have mistaken it for a stout. Very drinkable and I easily wanted another one, but I got distracted by other things on the South Park menu.

Working off a 1oz sample pour for this review, but this beer got my attention.

Great smell. Lots of caramel. Very rich tasting. More than most brown ales I've had.

Do yourself a favor and get you a pint of this really well done beer.
