Another from the flight at the brewery where they were out of half of their own beers. Pre-covid too, this is Fall 2019 (October I believe).
Brown ale pours brown. Style checks out. Light brown head 1/5". I guess its a darker brown in the body. The aroma hits that earthy brown malt sensation, even a light puff of chocolate malt. Stay Puft.
Taste is a mild backwoods cigar, chocolate malt, brown malt, minimal if any hopping (totally fine for style). The mouth feel is a bit watery unfortunately. This was like their coffee oatmeal stout cut with water. Hint of nuttiness to it which is what brown ales do when done right. I feel like this one was on the periphery of being 'right'. Its ultimately more of a little homebrew operation at a winery, but that's ok. Good enough to pass the time, but not falling into the recommend category.
