I'm lucky enough to live in San Diego and have Alpine Beer within driving distance. Bought a growler fill of the O'Brien's IIPA.
Great golden color. Nose is Carmel with some citrus notes. Very hop forward, floral and piney with a spivey finish. Can taste the rye-esc notes of the Nelson hops. Alcohol presence apparent in the fore and after taste as one comes to expect in a IIPA. Wonderfully balanced with a sweet caramel character. Absolutely one of the best IIPA's I've enjoyed.
