Truck Trail is named for the Anderson Truck Trail in Alpine, CA and is a tribute to rural American back roads where locals go for off-roading and other shenanigans. This American Pale Ale features a balanced blend of Cascade and Centennial hops. It pours a golden yellow with an eggshell colored beer foam and its bold hop-bitterness is perfectly balanced by a mellow, malty sweetness. Dominant notes of fresh pine needles and zesty citrus rind make this a classic example of the style.

12 oz. Can
Poured into a Trillium glass a pretty nice clean/clear dark golden orange color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which leaves some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit), piney. The taste is hoppy, malty, with a nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit), nice pineyness. Medium body, ABV is hidden pretty nicely, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty tasty brew.

Fantastic honey yellow body; dense, creamy head with lots of sticky foam inside the glass. Nice tropical fruit aroma with some toasted malt buried deep. Esters present if the flavor yet mostly malty (like an English-styled IPA); mild hop bitterness.
Medium-heavy body; velvety with some gentle residual sugars; a bit dry and lightly sweet.
A damn fine IPA, not to hoppy or bitter, doesn't overdo the fruit notes, and has a nice, proportional malt backbone. Very tasty.

12 fl oz can:
Floral. Slightly oily, a bit resinous. Pale malts.
Generic for a pale ale in 2018. Leave it to Green Flash...what a shame.

Copper and hazy with lots of champagne carbonation, and topped with 2 fingers of yellowish head.
Smells of caramel malts, biscuit, and much like a German pils.
The taste follows the nose. Slightly sweet, much like an old world pilsener.
Medium body, moderate carbonation.
Got in Sacramento, drinking in Redding, Oct 26th, 2018.

Truck Trail pours a copper color, with a long lasting and lacing head. Earthy aroma, hints of metal. Flavor is first crisp and sweet, very mellow, then a harsh bitter. Hints of earth and darker hops. Good body and flavor. Overall, not the best. Stronger flavors, the sweet then bitter makes it hard to stomach.

L - Yellow, with 2 full fingers of head and lots of lace left all over the glass
S - Fairly thin aroma, bitter hops and bready malts
T - Bready and bitter hops, bitter aftertaste.
F - Thin body and well carbonated. Slick
O - A decent pale ale, but a little below the typical Alpine standards of excellence
