Praxis “Natal”
5,50€/25 cl on tap @ Crafty Corner, Lisboa, Portugal on 23.11.2024
Just in time for Xmas! Listed on the beer board as "winter", or inverno in Portugese, this is distinguished from their other winter offering by the 8% ABV. It’s a hazy reddish brown at around 17 or 18 SRM. The head is a short but creamy cap of dark tan. It’s softly spicy, caramelish, and bready in the nose. The taste follows with additional dried dark fruitiness. The spiciness is mild and more like nutmeg and cinnamon than anything else. The malt is full flavored but not quite rich, and certainly not overly sweet. A moderate bitterness balances it along with a very light touch of alcohol. It’s medium bodied on the upper end, and gently crisp and then smooth and creamy once warmed. Quite enjoyable.
