12oz can, tulip, canned 12/13/17.
This edition of Cellarman's Reserve is coppery with a respectable off-white head.
Caramel malt, sweet floral note, and some orangey citrus. It warms into some alcohol that is a little surprising.
It has the juicy, full caramel malt body that the color often betrays. I detect some butterscotch and alcohol. What this beer really should be about, a heaping helping of Centennial hops, doesn't make an impact performance. There's a medium-low bitterness and the flavor is generic citrus.
Full and slippery, it drinks well, but again some unwanted booze in the finish hurts this beer.
This is the least impressive of the Cellarman's Reserve that I have had. The apparent alcohol in the nose, taste, and finish is new. I will say I've been somewhat disappointed by the lack of hop aroma and flavor in some of the others, but this is a low. Martin House, I will try one more from this series before I stop buying it. I always buy it within a month of release and enjoy the chance to try single hops immensely. Please step it up.
