In a history that includes beers such as Rubberneck Red, Bockslider, and Hell Below/Stars Above, Possum Kingdom is a sessional beer brewed with Czech Saaz hops and pilsner malts. At 4% abv, it is the first low-alcohol beer we have produced. The sessionability of this beer is really what sets it apart from our other releases. Whether you’re on stage or in the pit, PK Pils is the perfect companion.

Light gold color with white cap and lace.

Aroma of rich Pilsner malt and floral, spicy hops.

Flavor of rich malt cake with spicy hop frosting. It's a milder sort of flavor in the overall scheme of things, rather simple as well, yet it has complexity that rivals it's Czech originals. Malt forward with hops riding along and adding a touch of brightening bitterness at the finish.

Light medium texture with balancing carbonation.

A good, basic Pislner style lager that's true to it's roots. Clean and refreshing, it's also clearly well made because this style won't allow for the hiding of any mistakes. Someone with confidence made this one and if I ever fish the Guadalupe again it's a good bet I'll have some of this along.

Pale, straw yellow body; little in the way of carbonation bubbles, yet the head is thin and lasting. Herbal, grassy aroma. Mild cracker flavor; nice hop bitterness counterpoint. Light and delicate mouthfeel; warm and dry.

This would be a go-to pilsner for me if readily available in Colorado. I like the low ABV (i.e., very sessionable) yet it also delivers a very pleasant, light cereal grain and hop profile to the palate. Very good stuff, indeed...

12oz can, wine glass, canned 5/21/18.

Bubbles rush and pop upwards from the pour of liquid going down, forming a fleeting white head. What forms is a chill hazed middle yellow.

Grainy cracker, hearty yeast, dry with a hint of malt sweetness, a bit of canned corn. I find the nose very wholesome, in a down home kind of way.

Best served cold, the first impression is crisp. The flavors are of clean yeast, barley, and green hops. Creamed corn sweetness lurks in the back, but not like the villain you might think. This kingdom lacks that kind of corruption.

The mouthfeel of effervescent bubbles, dry finish, and lilting body is the natural twin to the crisp flavors.

This pils pleased me during the first weekend outside of the summer. It’s a quintessential cold beer for hot days.
