Bright and clear, golden body topped with a thick, sticky, sculpted head; strings of lacing coating the glass. Mildly toasted grain aroma with a wet, grassy note. Big caramel flavor with a big hop bitterness; some earthy spiciness. Heavy body with residual sugar heft; warm; biting dryness.
Well, not a bad beer but certainly not a well-balanced or particularly memorable IPA. At the time of this review, the type of hop used for this version isn't listed on the brewery's web site although the canning date on the bottom of the can appears to be 5/20/18.
Late note (12-11-18): the other can I have lists the hop varietal as Calypso.

12oz can, New Belgium glass, canned 9/20/18.
It’s a normal quality looking IPA that’s got some good lace and is colored mid copper tones.
Pronounced spicy aromas are front and center; cedar, arugula, tea. Malt supports this by being drying and grainy. There’s minimal lemon zest and floral for all the talk about Calypso’s fruitiness.
Flavor paces aroma with spicyness and cedar comes out more. Fruit does as well and I get some red apple and jasmine.
Soft nice carb with medium body.
It’s delicate yet intense. It’s clearly very hopped, but the flavors are not classic American.
