maybe I got a bad batch, but this stuff was H A R D to drink. violently sour and funky. normally I love sour but this one was really testing me. this was a 10.3% batch.
in general I'd be curious to try it again, just to contrast it with this. though only if it went down on price... we paid 8 bucks for just a single 12oz can!

Whiskey Barrel-Aged Imperial Fruited Sour Ale
Hazy, peach color - opaque with a bunch of floaties in it. 1/4" head disappears immediately. No lace.
Barrel character is strong, overpowering even the fruit at first. Zingy passion fruit begins to appear after about 10 minutes.
Sour tropical fruit and boozy bourbon. Some toffee.
Exactly what they say it is. Straightforward without much complexity.
Puckering sourness, medium body and low to medium carbonation. High acid.
I think I'd like to try the beer w/o the barrel aging...maybe.
