Golden Stout with Lactose and Coconut. This beer has more flavor than any other beer I’ve tasted at Martin House. This beauty is full of rich, decadent coconut. It’s boozy and sweet. The lactose gives it a nice creaminess to bring it all together. Kind of like a meringue. If you were impressed with the accuracy of flavors of Lemon Icebox Pie, you will not doubt be satisfied by the Coconut Cream Pie Stout.

12oz can, wine glass, canned 5/6/19.
This is a golden stout, so it’s auburn brown and has a quickly dissipating head that’s the color of toasted coconut.
Drippingly sweet, caramelized sugar, sweetened shredded coconut, graham cracker. I’m reminded of meringue.
Oh yes it’s cloyingly sweet, but it has redeeming flavors. Vanilla cream, toasted coconut, rum, creme brûlée. There is an overall creaminess.
Medium, slick body that finishes creamy, a sensation that’s complimented by the soft, but plentiful carbonation.
Martin House has made a business out of churning out interesting beers, many based on the flavors of familiar foods, and this is no exception. Most of them are one and done, I couldn’t drink another of these, however it’s a true desert beer.
