L: A rich hazy dried apricot orange with two fingers of really dense ivory foam of average retention to a thin wispy cap and ring, loads of rising bubble streams and broken bands and speckles of lace.
S: Gose-like saltiness, and a very distinguishable fresh blood orange which is not the least bit artificial despite its strength. Excitement.
T: Ah letdown. The citrus competes more than compliments the saltiness and leaves a bitter and slightly astringent lemon concentrate on the finish. Not at all refreshing.
F: Also a problem. Thinner feel than the ABV would suggest, but still heavy, drab, oily, and dead.
O: I was curious with the brewer’s divergence with the light style and giving them props for innovation and blazing their own path. I still do. However this does not at all work, making this barely finishable and my second can a giveaway. Oh well. Looked and smelled great. Keep innovating!

Poured from 12oz can into a tulip.
Appearance: medium orange hue with a moderate haze and a thin layer of frothy eggshell foam atop. Not bad.
Smell: classic lightly-sour gose aroma; there's a nice malt base and a nice blood orange character as well. I think something is taking away from the classic refreshing gose aroma, though; perhaps the extra sweetness?
Taste: quite sweet with a bit of sourness and a definite orange-zest quality. Saltiness comes through a little bit as well. It's not bad, but not really my favorite gose.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a moderate carbonation and decent creaminess.
Overall: this beer is pretty decent; however, the main quality of a gose is its light, refreshing nature, something that is hard to square with the "imperial" qualities of this beer.

CAN:
Smacky and strangely delicious, with a nice salty dried-lime finish and hints of coriander throughout. Lactic acid is strong in this one, but the sour twang really works for it, and I'm appalled how well hidden the 9.2% ABV is - I'd figure this for 5.5% max. The blood orange isn't all that apparent, but it's present, blending into the citrusy lime-lemon melange of goodness.
Finishes tart, sour, smacky, acidic, and twangy, bringing all its fruity notes to the fore with aplomb.
I didn't know Martin House had this in them. A standout Gose with a lovely sour acidity and style-appropriate citrus and salt. I'd definitely pick this up by the sixer - and that's not something I think can be said about any Martin House beer I've had to date. Unexpectedly good work from a brewery not known for the same.
