Blackberry Cobbler
Martin House Brewing
Date: 25 May 2021
My trip across the country to Oklahoma landed me in Amarillo. I heard whispers of the famed Texas Pickle Beer. My quest for this holy grail got me into a liquor store with several other fine offerings including, the famous beer. This is one of the beers I pick-up that day a few months back. I poured it into tulip glass; the temperature was 44 degrees. A frothy and airy light pink two-fingered head with steady retention. The slow dissipation left some lacing on the glass, not much, though. The color is reddish-pink with clarity.
Blackberries are fragrant, followed by toasted graham crackers. A subtle malty sweetness, a hint of lemony tartness, and slight floral esters are what I detect next. The fruity sweetness leads to a vanilla aroma.
The beer taste just like a beer version of a blackberry cobbler. The blackberry ooze with a sweet tartness. The graham crackers added a complex layer to the flavor. Subtle floral, lemony sourness and earthiness delightfully finish the beer's flavors.
The mouthfeel is tart, sour, and crisp.
The body is light, has medium carbonation, and has a pleasant finish.
This beer is stellar. The sourness is perfectly balanced with the other accompanied flavor. The blackberries literally burst out of the can. I never heard of this brewery until July; I will seek them out and try other offerings. I enjoyed the six-pack immensely.

Cherry red, cranberry juice color. Two-knuckle pink foam head. sweet and tart berry medley, Vanilla and lactose creamy smoothness. Graham cracker comes through on the nose. Very nice kettle sour, well done, well balanced, doesn’t leave much to be desired nor is it trying too hard.
