After the release of Lemon Icebox Pie we received many requests for other pie themed sours. One of the top ones was this - Key Lime Pie 6.2% - Lime Sour Ale with Graham Crackers and Lactose. Well, the time has come!

Would like a bit more graham cracker and lactose present. That being said, super digging the tart lime!

I had this beer from a 12 oz can on the beach at sunset, so atmosphere was great, but a true review was not possible. This beer was surprisingly good to me. I expected some light tartness and lime, but this beer had the flavor and aroma of a full-blown key lime pie. It has strong sharp lime, along with graham cracker crust-like note and even some (lactose?) creamy sweetness. I was also surprised by ABV, a respectable 6.2%, and the strong punch of the sourness. This is a complex, assertive sour, not the gentle, seltzer drinker's gateway beer I assumed it would be. My hat's off to the brewers.

Pour is a very lightly cloudy golden yellow. Thick fluffy white head. Decent lacing and good retention for a sour beer
Nose is tart limes, hint of graham cracker, and touch of sweetness reminiscent of whipped cream.
Taste follows. tart limed, followed by graham cracker, sweet whipped cream, firm tartness.
Excellent beer - really captures key lime pie.

While I really liked the other two beers of this style* from these guys, this one did not continue that trend.
I found this one to be overwhelmed with limey-ness, but not balanced by the added lactose. Maybe not all themes have unlimited permutations.

Medium golden body. Really nice tart lime, citrus acidity, light zest balanced by a mildly sweet lactose/cream finish, lighter bodied, nice carbonation with tart lime finishing all the way through. Tastes legitimately like a KLP, I dig as that’s my fave.
