When life gives you plums, them make a fruit salad that you can drink. Martin House Brewing dive into the pantry with milk sugars, wheat and fermentation to provide a fruit forward flavor in kettle souring their ale.

Surprisingly amber and mauve in color, Sweet & Sour Plums builds a fluffy white crown while teasing with dark berries, wine and citrus. Getting into taste, the flavors are soft with sourdough, taffy, hard candy and a certain kool-aid character.

As the creaminess of wheat trails, the candied sweetness of seemingly blueberries and grapes carry as much weight as the plum additions. Quickly trending sour, the full and plump fruitiness trails into a clean but overt taste of lactic acid for a tart, crisp and refreshing session.

Juicy to start but dry to finish, the beer is a simple fruit flavor with a simple kettle souring backbone. Crisp, refreshing and highly drinkable the beer is pleasant, like a slightly alcoholic juice box but lacks in more complex beer nuances to qualify as anything any more quality worthy.
