Poured from a can into a snifter
Appearance – The beer pours a deep-deep brown color with a one finger head of tan colored foam. The head fades rather fast, leaving a light level of foam on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is big of a nice roasted malt smell mixed with a rather strong showing of a dark chocolate and cocoa smell. Along with these aromas comes notes of a somewhat floral and musty smell as well as some aromas of a light clover honey and some smoke.
Taste – The taste begins with a nice roasty and toasted malt flavor with some moderate tastes of caramel and molasses as well as some light honey flavors. At the same time there are some cocoa and coffee flavors as well, both of which fade a bit as the taste advances. All the while the honey increases a bit and takes on some of the clover like characteristic that were detected in the nose. With a little bit of a char developing toward the end, one is left with a rather nice roasty and toasty, not overly sweet, and lightly honey tinted taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – THE body of the brew is more thick and creamy with a carbonation level that is rather low. For the roasty malt and moderate sweetness the feel is good and makes for a nice sipper.
Overall - A rather nice not over the top in sweetness imperial stout with a nice honey accent.

Poured from a can into a tulip glass. Oily dark brown color with fluffy light brown head and good curtain lacing. Nice dark chocolate smell and taste. The flavor is a bit off. With regard to the honey, and the beer is a bit thin for an imperial stout. Not a bad beer but not one of this brewery’s better stouts.
