Appearance: Massive dense, snow-white head with superb retention rides atop a slightly hazy medium golden body. A shower of small bubbles drifts lazily to the surface. Clusters of fat bubbles cling to the glass walls. The lacing is thick and Belgian-like.
Aroma: A brief sniff offers a solid wave of marshmallow cream and peanut butter, quite astonishing. There is no hint of alcohol, despite the respectable ABV of eight percent.
Taste: The taste begins with a wave of very pleasing and natural flavors of peanut butter and marshmallows. This carries the taste, throughout. Midway through, the alcohol makes its presence known, with a warm and mellow note. Late in the taste, there is just a faint kiss of herbal hops, balancing out the sweetness. Finishes with a mild, lingering note of marshmallows.
Mouth feel: Smooth and very full, with velvety soft carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: Extraordinarily well-done for such an unusual dessert beer, and very fitting for the Halloween season., I regret that it is probably a "one-shot" as are so many of Martin House's beers. Wicked Wolf is one of the beers in the "Marty's Little Monsters" quartet.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce aluminum can, served in a La Fin du Monde tulip.
