L- Pours a hazy orange and golden colored ale with a nice rocky head.
S-The aroma is a dank and funky with nice hop characteristics. Piney and citrusy hops to be exact. Some earthiness and again, dankness. To add to that, I get hints of blood orange, pineapple, strawberry and honey. Maybe some bourbon at the end?
T-The taste is sweet up front. Citrus and melon are fruit notes I get followed by sweet honey. There's a nice bitter bite towards the end with some earthy hop characteristics. Booze is hidden incredibly well for an 8 percenter.
F-Medium mouthfeel with decently high carbonation. Slight watery finish.
O-Easily the most normal beer I've had from Martin House. Definitely like it a lot. It's not a perfect beer by any means, though. For a brewery that packs a powerful, and sometimes too powerful, punch, I do personally feel that it's lacking in enough notable characteristics to make it great. With that said, it is a very well made imperial IPA and the hint of sweet honey throughout really does give it a unique pop.

It should be noted that this is a pretty simple beer, with mostly straight forward ingredients and style. Not the typical martin house. Not that all their crazy concoctions ain't good, in fact I love their weird and wild beers (well, most of them lol). But prepare for something more akin to the standard for the style here.
Floral and citrus aromas hint at the nice hoppy burst of flavor that comes next. With a tinge of orange and some honey slickness, the abundant hops bring it back home with a chewy feel and tingly carbonation. Very enjoyable. This was a 19.2oz can but I'll look for a sixer next time.

The Bee's Knees pours a cloudy almost orange juice color. Lots of carbonation and a minimal head. Canned 01/03/23 it has a medium strength aroma of mostly hops. Expecting maybe some Bell Hopslam similarities, it's very different in that it has less malt and more hop bitterness but bursting with orange flavor without being too sweet. Adding a somewhat crispy bite to it, the Bee's Knees is very good and I will buy it again when it's fresh. Thanks Martin House.

Very hazy pineapple-yellow pour with decent lacing.
Nose is a floral bouquet with aromas of citrus orange grapefruit with a touch of honey.
Taste is sweet, a malty, honey-touched beer, with plenty of hop bitterness to boot. It’s nothing complex, but it’s good stuff. Grapefruit and other lemon-like citrus notes abound, especially in aftertaste. I think what I like the most is the malt backbone here. It serves its purpose well.
Mouthfeel is smooth and medium-smooth and crisp, with nice bite.
This is worth seeking out if you like IPAs and honey. I’m been enjoying some Hopslam lately, another more well-known honeyed DIPA. Although the aforementioned is a stronger beer and a favorite of mine, this one is almost on par.

Body was a slightly cloudy yellow orange with off white head. Pronounced aromas of honeysuckle, flowers , citrus and honey. Taste was very floral and the honey was evident. Light hop bitterness. Mouthfeel was appropriate, with the right amount of slickness. Okay, so this beer has many prominent characteristics. It looks great, the smell is very strong, the taste has many identifiable characteristics, and the mouthfeel is spot on. Many people will like this. I think the brewers accomplished what they set out to do, so kudos. But for me, its just a bit too flowery and cloying for regular consumption.

1/18. Canned 1/3/23
Nose and taste are pine, grapefruit rind, citrus, solid bitterness balanced nicely by light caramel and honey character on the finish. Dank / resinous. Honey present in the nose, too.
Clean, crisp and easy to drink at 8%.
Good example of a classic west coast double IPA with the twist of the added honey.
A very good beer

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a very hazy orange-yellow color with a tiny head of white foam. The head fades rather fast, leaving a touch of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a bready malt smell mixed with notes of orange and grapefruit. Along with these smells comes a little bit of honey and caramel. Overall, the aroma is rather subdued.
Taste – The taste begins with a bready and slightly grainy taste that is paired with a decent showing of grapefruit hop. At the same time there is a little bit of orange and tangerine and some light sweetness of a honey and caramel nature. As the taste advances the grapefruit gets a bit stronger and is joined by some herbal and light pine hop. With a little loss of some of the malty flavors, one is left with a moderately sweetened, but very approachable slightly more malty and citrusy taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thick and chewy with a lower carbonation level.
Overall – An alright double IPA, that is on the slightly more malty side. Good, but noting too special.
