Appearance: Hazy (ok, to style) straw blonde glass holds a solid finger of tight white foam that gives up some lace.
Aroma: Firm hop note, citric and pine, with a little malt peeking through, promising.
Taste: A little too balanced for my tastes. I like hoppy IPAs, and this just isn't. What's here is good, kind of a cracker malty base, some mild citric orange peel and pine hops, but it comes across more like a Pale Ale.
Mouthfeel: High carbonation, medium light body, gritty texture, clean finish.
Overall: A well made, under hopped beer. Martin House always has high quality, I just disagree with the recipe on this one.If you put IPA on the label, you just have to bring more hop flavor. This is a good lawn mower, not a good NE IPA.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed golden color with a puffy head of white foam. The head has a fantastic level of retention, fading slowly over time and leaving a little bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heavy of an herbal and floral smell mixed with a rather strong showing of some earthy hop and a bit of mustiness. Other aromas of cracker malt and a touch of grain are there as well, creating a rather dry and nicely hopped aroma overall.
Taste – The taste starts out with a cracker malt base mixed with hop flavors of an herbal and earthy nature. As the taste advances the cracker malt is joined by a touch of breadiness as well as some hop flavors of a floral nature. There is a bit of hay and grass that develop more toward the end, and with a bit of pine, one is left with a rather dry and decently hopped (for a 5 % abv. brew) taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is rather light and crisp with a carbonation level that is on the higher side. For eth tastes and the abv. the feel is great and makes for a nice easy refreshing sipper.
Overall – I rather liked this brew. A lighter abv. IPA with a non-citrus laden taste and a very easy drinking body and feel. A good summer session!
