Fresh from the Tavour box that came in today, we have a very interesting Gose here. Chamoy seems like a rather obvious flavor profile to emulate for the style, so I’m sure it hasn’t been done until now. Let’s crack it open and see what it’s all about
Pours a cloudy copper orange with 2 fingers of off white head that quickly fades to nothing and leaves no lacing
The nose shows a great blend of savory spices and tart citrus. I’m picking up on aromas of lime juice, habanero, chili powder, fruit punch, orange Jell-O, lemon zest, sea salt, and light coriander
The spice takes over a bit in taste, but it’s still a great unique beer. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting chili powder, habanero, lime zest, lemon juice, crackery malt, and jalapeño. The swallow brings notes of habanero, orange Jell-O, chili powder, sea salt, lime zest, lemon juice, and jalapeño
A light medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a crisp beer. Finishes bone dry with a hit of spice but is very refreshing
This is one hell of a unique beer. It could use some fruit as well to balance out the spice of the chamoy but it’s great as is
