Received a care package from the generous @jzeilinger on 10-16-25. Brewed on 8-31-23; canned on 2-6-24; consumed on 11-24-25. Cold stored since receiving.
Beer poured jet black with a gorgeous brown head with the original pour.
Nose has notes of light to medium roasted malts and a wee touch of whiskey.
Taste is a light to medium roasted malt base that has been nicely hopped. Getting a touch of chocolate. Barrel brings in some leather and alcohol and is balancing nicely in the end.
Mouthfeel is full bodied, nicely viscous, and very smooth.
Overall, this is a solid brew as i dig the roast.
