I am pretty sure it was because this was way out of date, because I recently picked this up from a store I work at. It is (or at least was sold as) a mardi gras seasonal beer, and it is way past mardi gras. It was terrible! The texture was weirdly thick and the flavor did not compliment it's mouthfeel. Being overly syrupy and sweet, with the ' beer ' flavor being more like biscuit dough that an actual beer.
I wouldn't reccomend this at all, at least as it currently stands. Maybe if I get some closer to Mardi Gras it will be better.
