Appearance - A near black brew with tight beige/latte foam head that lasts for ages and leaves loads of sticky lace.
Smell - Ripe banana dark roasted malts a little light coffee and very mild hop presence light smoke and some oak notes.
Taste - Slightly sour apple and very smokey coffee. No banana just sour and smokey and some bitter hop. Decent roasted hop but the sour element unbalances the whole affair. The sourness reminds me almost of a poor white wine. There is also something chemical in here I do not care for at all
Mouthfeel - Oddly thin and fairly cloying.
Overall - this one just does not work overall and it falls short of what you would expect for the style. It is too sour and even at times chemical . Looks good but sadly that is all.
