On draft at Bottle Rocket. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left thin rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of chocolate, toffee, caramel and some pine. Sweet chocolate, toffee, caramel and some bitter coffee.

enjoyed on nitro at the drift inn, just called porter now i think, really solid beer, like downright amazing for a brewery i had never heard of before, this is super robust and flavorful, but so smooth in this format, really exceptional quality overall, i will have to go check these guys out next time i am on the coast! almost looks like a guinness, near black, soft looking, and super well nitrogenated, tan and creamy on top, nice beer moustache on every sip the whole pint. i love all the roast in nose and taste, suggestions of just lit cigar, good espresso, and dark soil, really organic and deep, but without being super bitter or overly heavy in body, i could have ripped a half dozen of these. its in some ways quite simple, to me not hardly hoppy at all, it gets its back end bitterness from dark roasted barley. the yeast is maybe faintly english but pretty mild in taste despite being unifying and lending some back end dryness. there is also not a ton of middle malt richness to this, so its really about the roast, some chocolate character here too, great minerality underneath it all too, and the smooth and long nitro texture makes it. charcoal and pipe tobacco and strong cold brew coffee on the swallow. this is fantastic, really about as good as it gets in a no frills porter, they nailed this!

Balck in color, cream colored head. Good lacing and head retention. Dark chocolate, a little coffee. Moderately roasty, and a little dark fruit. Medium to full bodied.

On tap at a taproom. Nice off white creamy head, good dark red/brown color, crystal clear, settles slowly into good lacing. The nose is quite smoky. The taste follows suit, with some woody smoky notes up front transitioning into sweet caramel and a hint of chocolate. The body is oddly flat and watery, but this may be a fluke.
Great porter, smokier than most, and that makes it unique.

From tap at the Blue Heron German restaurant in Coos Bay, Oregon on Leah's 46th birthday. Great restaurant and great beer from this small brewer. A definite good find!

64oz growler from The Growler Run into a tulip glass.
Pours black with deep red edges when held to light, with a thin, foamy off white head.
Lightly roasty cocoa and espresso notes for the most part.
Medium body, mild carbonation.
An easy drinking, very well done porter.

My first BA beer review! Got this on tap at 1285 Restobar in Florence, Oregon. Color like dark cola, slightly translucent. Deep but nuanced aromas of bing cherry and mahogany. Comfortable mouthfeel, not too thin, not too oily. Nice classic porter taste, chocolate and nutty tones, with a slight lingering finish.
