awesome new england style double ipa here, hazy orange juicy looking in the glass under a pretty average white head but with great retention and lots of lace. it smells very fruity and without much bitterness, a cool expression of hops here, its so citrus forward that its actually like tangerines in the glass, some ripe melon and yellow peach there too. its amazing how much of the fruitiness of the nose comes through in the taste too, so often in these there is a big drop off from the aroma to the flavor, i almost always notice that in these mostly dry hoppy beers, but here it remains! some mango and pine notes in there with all the citrus, a little australia or new zealand white wine character too, and it has me wondering what hops this is built with. it has a lot of body, feels a little starchy, and warms up a touch heavy, this could use just a bit more polishing up, but its hard to argue with this flavor, and its good enough that the weight doesnt matter much. its never been the hoppy stuff that impressed me most from these guys, but this was really fantastic. maybe the best hoppy beer i had on my trip through montana recently! i hope they keep this one around (unlike their magical meatloaf sandwich, which has been changed for the worse recently...).

Actually 7 percent according to the menu. Beautiful orange juice appearance. Restrained aroma, juicy tropical taste, robust bitterness (much more than your typical NEPA)
