a lighter brown porter brewed with lactose, cocoa nibs, graham crackers, and actually served with a torch toasted marshmallow resting on top of it at the brewery, pretty cool idea, awesome presentation, and a yummy beer overall, even though i didnt have the marshmallow, its sweet enough without it. surprisingly light in color, looks like a brown ale, plenty of light coming in here, short white head fades fast. aroma is sweet but not overly so, with more cocoa character coming out to me because the roast is as light as it is, chocolate malt too, the honey from the graham cracker, and a touch of smokiness too, even though thats not really the model here. some caramel and raisin notes in the flavor, i can taste the graham cracker too which is cool, a good amount of sweeter chocolate too, and thats the last thing i taste as i swallow it too. not overly complex but nice layering of flavor and it accomplishes its mission. i wish it had a little more roasted bitterness, or was done without the lactose, its a little sweeter than i can drink much of, even with the marshmallow held, but its very well executed overall. tasty with their delicious chili in here, some of the best food around billings in my experience for sure. clever brew, cool name, nice presentation!
