This was one of two Pax offerings on the menu at Cafe Abseits in Bamberg (the other being Opal Pilsner). I snagged a 1.0l bottle (€10.90) to go with my lunch at the cafe on 27SEP15.
Poured some into a Teku tulip... It was a deep golden/apricot color. Was a bit cloudy, and had slow-moving, fine carbo within. Was topped by a short, rocky, light tan head, and some very nice lacing. Aroma was a bit sweet, with some apricot, orange and cookie dough. Medium-bodied, it was fairly smooth going down.
Flavor was also somewhat sweet, with a touch of caramel and toasty malt. More jam-like apricot showed up, a hint of orange, and some rindy bitterness at the finish. A touch sweeter than most Helles Bocks, but pretty good, all-in-all. Zum Wohl!!
