Can from Candia Road
Slightly hazy deep amber with a red tint to it. Bready caramel maltiness with some pine and light citrus to counter. somewhat bitter light aspirin in the finish lingers a bit. Not to bad kind of old school but it works.

Tonight: Panama Red by Funky Bow Brewery and Beer Company of Lyman, Maine. I've been to brewery. Great place with a big outdoor area with biergarten tables and live music, all with fresh beer and homemade pizzas and other stuff. Great for families to just hang out. Back to the beer: nice dark red color typical of the style. This has a nose of floral hops and mild malt. Taste is nutty and sweet with a good bitter finish and a slight spiciness. Can says it has Centennial hops.

A - Poured a translucent ruby and mahogany color. Slight head of half finger, slightly tan in color. Minor lacing.
S - Fruity and piney hop aroma, more hop forward than I'd expect. Intense sweet malt character, caramel, toffee, brown sugar. Actually reminds me of brown shugga. Slight alcohol punch.
T - Very tasty, plenty of aroma hops up front, piney, floral, earthy. This is met and balanced immediately by a very pleasant sweet malt flavor, notes of caramel, brown sugar, slight fruit. It ends with a very satisfying bitter hop quench and a nice alcohol bite. I think I like the finish better than anything else, the biting quenching hops linger and make me crave more.
M - I was expecting something thicker but this goes down easy, for a red ale the intense hops make it more satisfying to drink than some more sweeter versions I've had.
O - This is a great beer. It is a turnt up red ale to be blunt. Stylistically it is too hoppy and loud, red IPA might be more fitting. But either way this beer is delicious and satisfying. Ill be coming back to Panama Red again.

Always looking for a good red and I found one at Funky Bow Brewing in Lyman, Me. Deep red color with nice white head. Inviting aroma. taste is as good as I have had for a red. Will try this again and again.
