5 oz. tasting glass on cask at Great Lost Bear in Portland, Maine.

Appearance: Pours a deep brown with a short head that is gone quickly.

Aroma: Oaky with notes of coffee and licorice. Some dark chocolate. Slightly smokey.

Taste: Follows the nose, with a nice oaky, smokey flavor up front and coffee and roasted malt in the background. A licorice-type kick is also there - some nice wintergreen, too.

Mouthfeel: Very nice depth. Just about perfect for a porter.

Overall: Glad I stumbled upon this one. Very tasty porter with complex, enjoyable flavors. Also nice to have a porter on cask; don't see that a tremendous amount. I'm on a real hot streak with tasting glasses - maybe I should just stop ordering whole beers.
