This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a fairly nice hazy paled yellow to orange color with a nice glazed over look to it. There was a nice fairly decent one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute and leaving a decent glossed over light lacing. The smell had some light orange to tangerine to lemon tones over top of some nice light caramel malts to balance. The taste was mainly citrusy hoppy with a nice sweet caramel malt to balance. There was a slight citrusy to caramel aftertaste and a decent light dry finish. On the palate, this one sat fairly light and showed a decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was fairly harsh and good for the style and to me. Overall, I say this was a good APA worthy of having again.

From BeerAdvocate Magazine #79 (Aug 2013):

An interesting Pale Ale we have here. Seriously ... you don’t run into beers that are this original, down to earth and pretty drinkable. While not an earth-shattering brew, it does set itself apart from the usual citrusy Pale Ales.

STYLE: American Pale Ale
ABV: 7.2%
AVAILABILITY: Year-round

LOOK: Pale brassy hue, superb suds

SMELL: Citrus rind, leafy, pithy, faint mint, clementines, ripe pears, doughy biscuits

TASTE: Medium body, perfect smoothness, mellow hop resin, leafy, fresh, vegetal, citric, mildly estery, yeast, nutty, earthy, mild biscuity malt, hint of spice, pungent hop finish, dry ending
