750 ml mini growler from the brewery. Poured into a Hammerheart tulip glass.
Appearance: Color is a deep brownish amber. Moderate amount of bubbles and about a finger of off white head that settles into a thin patch.
Smell: A smokey and bready malt forward aroma with a scent of smoke, wheat, and toast. Upfront scent of smoke along with some wood. Malt scent of wheat, cereal grains, toast, caramel, and biscuit with some yeast. Subtle earthy hops. A pretty nice aroma.
Taste: Like it smells, smokey and bready malt driven taste with notes of smoke, wheat, and toast. Good upfront presence of smoke along with some wood. Malt notes of wheat, caramel, cereal grains, toast, and biscuit along with yeast. Undertones of earthy hop bitterness. A pretty good smokey taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp and pretty smooth.
Overall: A very good smokey brew. Nice smoke presence with the cereal grains.

Pours a clear, copper colour. Clean smoke aroma, with sweet bready and caramel malt notes, with a bit of an alcohol scent as well. Tasted like it smells, light, smokey body throughout, cinnamon and other spices, cereal and caramel malts, simple, but tasty. Had a slightly dry finish with a hint of caramel.

Yet again this place just kills it. This could take over as the standard for smoked beers. Just about perfect in every respect.

Høst Øl - HammerHeart Brewing Company. Poured from a 750 ml growler into a snifter, this brew's head is one finger thick and off-white, with lateral lacing, and a very dark brown/reddish body.
I smell a near-whiskey sweetness, along with tangier malts and grains. These will probably will be balanced by floral, delicate hops.
Tastes like a nice blend of "harvest"/saison-esuqe grains, along with an enjoyably noticeable smoked flavor that this brew is billed for. Quite the pleasing twist on this oft-copped style as of recent here in the States.
The mouthfeel I'm picking up over here is medium-light, with not a whole lot of carbonation.
I'll choose to award Høst Øl - HammerHeart Brewing Company with an overall 4.75. Yet another solid trade from my friend @jrsaffert. Thank you again, my brother in steel \m/

Amber with a little carbonation floating up in the beer, but no head.
Nose is smoke and oak, or no shit Sherlock.
Tastes smoky with a definite oak aftertaste. Again, nothing subtle here.
It delivers 100%.

Appearance: Dark amber, good head.
Smell: Wood smoke, smoked meat, faint breadiness.
Taste: Mild citrus, then a nice breadiness, then finishes with a moderate woody smokiness.
Overall: Brought home from a 750mL mini-growler. This is one of my favorites at Hammerheart, a smoked wheat harvest ale. It has a nice smokiness while maintaining a good malt and citrus hop balance.

This winter warmer from Hammeheart was aged in Bernheim whiskey barrels. Smoke flavor is balanced by sweel. Very pleasant and enjoyable to drink on a winters day.
