Hammerheart Knut the Great English-style Pale Ale. 6.5% ABV.
Highly hazed, rich amber coloring, fine head of off-white head.
Lightly spiced nose, little bit hoppy, partly earthy. Picking up the English yeast strain. A touch of fruit: apple, cherry.
In the mouth: clean and cool. Excellent balance. Typically unorthodox take on the style. Everything these guys do is just a little bit different. Lord, I love them. Medium body. Rich, yeasty flavor, Maris Otter malt, Warrior & Centennial hops.
Nice texture, beautiful flavor. Yum. All I've got to say. Yu, um.

On tap at the Triple Rock Social Club. 16 oz. serving in a shaker glass.
Appearance: Color is amber orange. Moderate amount of bubbles and a slight finger of off white head which settles into a thin patchy layer.
Smell: A crisp and bready aroma with a scent of biscuit and mild citrus. Toasted malt with a scent of biscuit, grains, and cracker along with some yeast. Light hints of citrus fruit and tea. Earthy hops with hints of grass. A pretty solid aroma.
Taste: Like it smells, a crisp and bready pale ale taste with notes of biscuit, tea, and citrus. Toasted malt with notes of biscuit, cracker, and grains along with yeast. Some notes of tea and citrus fruit. Mild hop bitterness with some notes of grass. A pretty nice balanced taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp and smooth with a drying finish.
Overall: A pretty solid English Pale Ale/Bitter. Nice balance of bready malt and hops.

Appearance: Hazy amber, good head.
Smell: Bready, touch of citrus.
Taste: Touch of sweetness, tea with mild citrus, earthy bitterness underneath it all.
Overall: Brought home a mini-growler of this English pale from Hammerheart. It's been years since I had their standard British Invasion pale ale so I can't compare this one to that. All in all, it's a solid pale ale, and gives the less adventurous palates something to drink at Hammerheart.
