Poured from a 16 can into a pint glass.

A: Amber with a long lasting, rocky, ivory 3 finger head that slowly dissipates into a thick cap.

S: The aroma comes from the hopping, being floral and lightly fruity.

T: The taste is of roasty, smoky malts, with a sturdy malt backbone with the hops lending a solid bitter base.

F: Smooth and dry with a nice tingle on the tongue from the carbonation. Coats the tongue nicely. You can feel the alcohol in a light burn.

O: I'm glad I bought a 4-pack. A worthy ale that matches well with good sandwiches. Hammerhead can be proud of this one.

750 ml mini growler from the brewery. Poured into a Hammerheart tulip glass.

Appearance: Pours a pretty hazy and deep amber orange. Moderate amount of bubbles and a solid finger of off white head that settles into a thin patch.

Smell: A juicy and smokey hop forward aroma with a scent of citrus, grass, and smoke. Citrus hop scent of grapefruit, orange peel, mango, and tangerine. Earthy hop scent of grass and pine. Good scent of smoke. Malt hints of caramel, grains, and cracker with yeast. A really nice aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a juicy and smokey taste with notes of citrus, grass, and smoke. Citrus hop notes of orange peel, grapefruit, mango, and tangerine. Earthy hop notes of grass and pine. Solid presence of smoke. Malt notes of caramel, cracker, and grains along with yeast. A very good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Juicy and fairly oily with a drying finish.

Overall: A pretty good smoked IPA. Nice mix of smoke and hop flavors.
