Appearance: Hazy yellow, good head.
Smell: Nice sweet smoke aroma.
Taste: Starts smoky, then gives a nice toffee sweetness and a bit of tea-like bitterness. Finishes with some lightly sweet smoke that lasts.
Overall: This is a very nice and drinkable/sessionable ale from Hammerheart. Kind of leans more to the English IPA style than American IPA due to the toffee and tea profile. The smoke from the applewood shows up as a nicely sweet touch in this beer. A nice summer beer.

750 ml mini growler from the brewery. Poured into a Hammerheart tulip glass.
Appearance: Pours a bright amber orange. Moderate amount of bubbles and a solid finger of white head that settles into a thin creamy layer.
Smell: A juicy and smokey aroma with a scent of citrus, pine, and smoke. Citrus hop scent of orange peel, grapefruit, and mango with some pineapple. Earthy hop hints of pine and grass. Malt scent of wheat, smoke, grains, and cracker with yeast. A pretty nice aroma.
Taste: Like it smells, a juicy and smokey taste with notes of citrus, pine, and smoke. Citrus hop notes of grapefruit, orange, and mango along with pineapple. Earthy hop notes of pine and grass. Malt notes of wheat, smoke, grains, and cracker along with yeast. A very good taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Fairly oily and drying.
Overall: A very nice twist on an IPA. Good hop flavor with a nice touch of smoke.
