A simple, mildly smoked Lutra Kveik pseudo lager using small amounts of Beechwood Smoked Barley and Oak Smoked Wheat with mild hop flavor from Hallertau Blanc and a hint of Spruce tips. We brewed this beer as the first at our new facility which we nicknamed "Nordland I".

From a 16oz can. No date on the can.
This beer is murky looking and has a dirty golden color to it. The head is 2 finger in size and just slightly off white colored. The frothy, fluffy head has great head retention and super sticky looking lacing on the glass.
Oh, the smoke is so delightful. It is a nice campfire smell, it also has a slight scotch smell to it. There's notes of an earthy spruce that come through the smoke, and add to the smoke aroma.
The smoke kisses mt taste buds right away, and has a slight sweetness to it. This is a light smoke flavor, but it mellows out fast and then it goes full on spruce. This spruce is added on to with a 2nd wave of nice smoked flavor. The finish is a nice bitterness that just lingers in my throat.
This beer does cling in my throat. The clingy feeling comes from the smoke, spruce and bitterness. Sticky feeling. Full bodied.
Wow! I just can't get enough of Hammerheart, and this beer is a good example of why I can't. Delicious.

16oz can. Brewed at the current location at 2034 E Sheridan St in Ely MN. No dating information found.
Cloudy, deep gold colored body. Initial pour results in a two finger white head, and this sticks around as a thick cap. Leaves behind a few lacing strings.
Smoke in the nose is remindful of meat and oak. Smells of fresh bread and floral hops.
Taste is quite light, with citrus hops and lightly toasted malts accompanied by wood smoke, beechwood and oak. Crisp bit of spruce tips. Aftertaste goes faint quite quickly.
Medium mouthfeel with an ethereal and soft presence. Lower levels of sweetness and bitterness. Very good carbonation.
Complex and balanced for a simple lager. Very easy drinking, even with the smoked malts.

From a 16oz can:
Appearance: Clear yellow gold, good head.
Smell: Light smoke, mild grass.
Taste: Light sweetness, followed by bread, then finishes with light smoke and bread in the finish. Extremely drinkable.
Overall: Welcome back Hammerheart! This is a subtly smoked kveik pseudo lager that reminds me of Schlenkerla Helles. The smoke is there, but in the background. A great beer for summer!
