Appearance: Slightly hazy orange, big head.
Smell: Rye note?, a little pine.
Taste: Mild sweetness, then a mix of some spicy rye and bitter pine. Medium bodied. Finishes with lasting bitterness.
Overall: When I saw the announcement of this beer by Hammerheart I thought it was an April Fool’s joke. Turns out it was real and it’s a solid IPA. Tastes like it has a rye base to me but that might just be the mix of hops used.

From a 16oz can with no date on it.
This beer has a nice amber color to it. There's a bit of murk in the appearance of the beer. The head is 2 finger in size and slightly off white colored. The head retention is amazing, and there's some nice lacing on the glass.
This is not a smoked beer, but the aroma is pleasing. It has a nice hint of pine in the nose. There's also a flora element to the nose that also works well with the pine.
Ok. The beer starts off with that floral element and it is quite pleasing. This fades out fairly fast and is replaced with full on pine bitterness. This bitterness hits in waves and just keeps on going.
The feeling of this beer is dominated by the feeling from the bitterness. This is a clingy and lingering feeling, that feels really good.
Well, this "session" IPA really packs a ton in a beer that is 5.5%. Delicious!

16 oz can into a Becher glass.
L: Pours a murky dark apricot color with very little carbo, a thin white head that recedes to edge froth, light scattered complex lacing.
S: Caramelized biscuit malts, brown sugar, figs, raisins, long-distance faint smoked malts.
T: Caramelized biscuit malts, woody toasted grains, a suggestion of rye, grapefruit zest, pine resin, old leather, a hint of tobacco leaf, very light hard candy sweetness, figs, prunes. It is full-flavored and is medium-rich tasting.
F: Lightly brisk and lightly juicy medium to med-light bodied mouthfeel with a very long medium-dry finish.
O: An intense tasting session IPA. Very resinous and full-flavored with a solid body of malts in place to support the bitterness. A great taste overall. It is outstanding.
