R.I.P. Shelter IPA! Due to a trademark issue with one of the craft big boys, we are having to change the name of our flagship IPA to Shot Away IPA. Trying to keep with the history of the concert, we decided Shot Away was a good name since it’s mentioned a bunch of times in the song Gimme Shelter. Sorry for the confusion, but it will stay the same great IPA you guys love! Please help us out and let your friends, family, and favorite drinking spots know. Cheers!

Well shit I guess I'll rewrite the first half of this review again. My sticker can was more of a rainbow color scheme compared to the image used here. Dig the Gimme Shelter reference 2.0, that has to be worth something in the appearance score. Its a yellow-golden, mostly clear beer with 1/3" white head. The aroma equally checks the hop boxes, stone, tropical and citrus fruit. More stone and citrus.
Taste is good, its a good crisp, bitter, but flavorful mouth feel. Not sure why they spent so much talking about the low bitterness, this seems like a reliable west coast ipa in the 60ibu range, I guess new money isn't all about that life. Its pretty easy to drink. Light body without any caramel, toffee or woody notes. Just crisp two row, maybe pilsner malt. Pine seems to be the biggest taste, then grapefruit rind, apricot nectarine and a light papaya feel. Good mixture.
Its yet another winner in the hoppy game from Altamont. They're as good as anything in this realm, just not as hyped.

Copper and filtered with lots of carbonation and five fingers of off-white head.
Smells of canned pineapple, and peaches. A hint of dankness.
The taste follows the nose and it’s like Pliney the elder.
Medium light body with a Tanic finish and moderate carbonation.
I got this in Sacramento and I’m drinking it in Redding California January Second, 2020.

Draft. Tropical fruits and hops aroma are great. But then it goes down: dry and bitter resinous finish.

Good not great, although maybe due to the establishment (not the brewery). Overly gassy on pour. Tasted entirely benign. Livermore, CA, March 2017
