Green Collar Pale Ale is a collaboration beer brewed for the Oakland A’s home opener with Altamont Beer Works out of Livermore. It has a huge tropical and citrus aroma with bold flavors from the heavy amount of Citra, Mosaic, and Lemon Drop hops used. With a simple malt bill of 2-row, Pilsner, and Munich malt, this brew is clean and easy-drinking...perfect for a tailgate!

Altamont prolly has the best sports-esque branding around. This was the first I scored. Go A's!

Pours yellow and looks unfiltered. 1/2" white head. Damn right I'm gonna boost the "look" score based on the label design, that is part of my system. Familiar aroma of Citra and Mosaic, I'd say more Citra than Mosaic, leans more citrus than it does tropical or danky. Lean and clean.

Taste is an easy fun pale ale banger, super easy to crush, nice light waves of orange, tangerine, guava, weed and lemon. I guess I should mention those lemon drop hops do have a small impact, the right proportion to contribute in a meaningful and positive way. Carbonation good, enough bitterness to not make it goopy or watery. Clean pale and pilsner malt make this dang good in every way.

I mean truly, they aren't lying in the commercial tug job about this being perfect for a tailgate. The most truth in advertising you'll find from a brewery.

Can into tulip. Canned 6/27/18.

A: Pours a clear orangish golden with a cap of off-white foam. Soapy lace.
S: Juicy nose with sweet tropical fragrant hops with just a kiss of citrus. Very fragrant and juicy.
T/M: Follows the nose with juicy tropical fruit nectar. Hops are fresh oily and tingly, but the mouth is light, clean and drying without any coating or heavy resinous hop oils. Solid bitterness pokes through the sweet fruit near the finish, with flavors of ambiguous citrus rind and a kiss of bready malt. Smooth carbonation and easy to drink. Hoppy and tingly.
O: I’ve had plenty of ipas that weren’t as hoppy as this.

Can dated 03/26/18 into a tulip glass.

L: Pours bright copper with a few suspended chunks, 1 finger of medium density white head with limited retention and left mixed lacing.

S: Faint nose, floral and earthy, hints of citrus.

T: Follows nose but with far greater contribution of the citrus, especially lemon. Finishes with some bitterness and astringency, bitterness lingers a bit.

F: Lighter bodied with medium carbonation, lively on the tongue, crisp finish.

O: A nice pale, that probably makes a good option for afternoon games in the sunshine. I enjoyed it, but likely won't repeat.

Canned 3/26/18, consumed 4/6/18 during the A's game.

Poured crystal clear gold honey with a big head that left great lacing.

Aroma is mild but very pleasant and inviting citrus and some stone fruits.

Taste is fruit like the aroma but to a greater and more defined extent.

Mouthfeel is medium, a little lower but not low carbonation, easy restrained bitterness, very clean & dry finish.

Overall, this is one of the best pale ales I've had. Big flavor like an IPA, but without all the dank and bitterness, just an easy drinking, perfect gametime brew.
