Can to snifter.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown color in the pour and left more of a dark brown close to black color with a small eggshell white foamy head falling off delicately. No lace.
The aroma had a wonderful semi-sweet to spicy barrel woody sweet glazed chocolate to coffee tone. Some cocoa powder dry semi-sweet whiffs, subtle sweet earth.
The flavor towards a refined blend of semi-sweet to subtly spicy barrel contour. Mellow dark chocolate and dark toast lighten up the spicy barrel. Mellow aftertaste of dark chocolate, spicy woody barrel and a touch of dark roasted coffee.
The mouthfeel was about medium to full bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Decent carbonation. Some dryness. Finishes semi-dry with some dark chocolate to toasty gripped quality.
Overall, nicely done imperial stout barrel-ed with Four Roses! I'd have again.
