This is the first review of this beer on BA. Had this at the Bistro's West Coast Barrel Aged Beer Festival held on November 7, 2015. Pours an amber/auburn like color. Creates a thin white head 1/5" deep. The aroma was a little sour for any leather bound book I've come across. I dunno.
Now where it got weird(er) was that the sourness wasn't in the taste as much as the nose would have led me to believe. Very earthy presence. The wine barrel gives some earthy wood and dirt notes like a less sour flanders red is what I was thinking. The talk of a cherry presence seems to be just that: talk. I get cherry notes from a wine barrel, but not actual cherry. There is a mild brett presence. Found the mouth feel to be a little hot on it, this had way more booziness than a lot of dipas I come across in the 8-8.5% range. Might have been a decent salvage of a possibly lost product, really dig the name.
