Notes: “Hella” is a NorCal thing, and when used, is a sure tip-off that you are from Northern California. A classic “West Coast” Double IPA; clean malt flavor, hop flavor forward, without all the bitterness. Hella

Can from Lúpulo. Fresh drop.
L: clear gold/amber with white head with nice lacing.
S: sweet, earthy, grass, dank.
T: pineapple rolled around in some wet grass and thrown in the blender. Maybe even some random yard clippings.
F: fairly full and slick, mildly bitter dry grassy finish. No boozy presence.
O: once again pretty malt-forward and sweet which isn’t my favorite. It makes me feel full and burpy. And the burps are wet grass. The beer can does describe it as “huge danky & resinous” so it’s honest advertising. It also does boast a 9% abv. Altamont is

Had this at the Lazy Dog in Dublin on draft in 16oz pint glass. Ale was amber in color with not much head. Pretty intense citrus hoppy aroma, Flavor was medium bitter with some sweet malt in back to balance. Finishes with citrus hops, flavorful; typical west coast double IPA, very well done.

Hella not that good. Tastes skunky and stale even out of the tap at a place I trust to have fresh beer and clean taps. Look is ok, smell is stale grass and skunky, taste follows smell with some diacetol on the finish, feel is too creamy, overall not great. Not the worst beer I have had but just not worth having over any decent IPA.

On-tap at Mikkeller Bar, San Francisco, CA

A: The beer is crystal clear yellowish amber in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high white head that has excellent retention properties, consistently leaving a short head covering the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of citrusy hops are present in the nose along with notes of passionfruit and hints of caramel malts.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of passionfruit and orange citrus along with some dankness and a light to moderate amount of bitterness. Hints of caramel are also perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is both dank and hoppy—the lanky nature really lingers into the finish. This does a very good job at hiding its alcohol.

I had this on tap at Pete's Brass Rail and Car Wash in Danville, CA.

Appearance- cloudy copper color, almost no head

Smell- citrus hops, very nice

Taste- citrus hops, delicious

Mouthfeel- medium bodied

Drinkability- I thought this was very good. I think I will have to have some more. By the time I go back to Pete's they probably won't have it there so I might have to go to the brewery.
