Amber red color with lots of thick head with good retention.
Aroma of barley grains and notes of brandy.
Malty sweet taste with notes of wood, toasted malts and brandy. Dry aftertaste with medium bitterness and residual woody taste.
Light to medium body with good carbonation. Drinkability is not so high.
I had just tried some world class Scottish Ales, so a bit unfair the comparison. What I can say is that this is a fairly successful try to produce this particular style in a country with a recent development of new types of beer other than Adjunct Lagers.
