Kilty Pleasure Scottish Ale has a smooth, complex malty body derived from English pale malt, roasted wheat, and crystal malts with just a touch of hops for balance. This ale pours a deep ruby color, and has a sweet malty nose with layered plum and raisin notes. Kilty Pleasure is our most award-winning beer, boasting Gold and Silver medals from nationwide competitions and a Bronze medal at the 2024 U.S. Open Beer Championship.

fun name for a beer, sturdy take on the style, especially for low abv overall, its mellow but sweet, layered but not too complex, malty but not obnoxious, perhaps too sweet for a bunch of pints, but one goes down delightfully. medium amber color and with some decent froth from the tap, looks a little deeper in low light, carbonation is there the whole way. it smells long boiled and almost like a baby barleywine in that respect, english grain, caramel, brown sugar, soft herbal hop character, near balanced, light maple and even wet wood as it warms, some old world yeast, subtle as it is, really brings it together. the flavor is about the same, sugars sort of bowl over much of the nuance, but a pint of malt juice is good sometimes and its good as i drink this, light almond or hazelnut in there, dried culinary herbs, root beer, lingering sweetness even though it doesnt have that much body. loved it with spicy food, weird but good pairing, and i think the quality is there. i didnt know much about fall river until i got to drink a number of their beers within a few days recently and that was a lot of fun, some clever stuff and solid execution. this is more winter than summer no doubt, but its good.

Purchased at Crescent City..Grocery Outlet ( which has a pretty good beer selection)..I bought this from the refridgerated case..so lets hope for the best.
$4.49
Pours the traditional brownish red coloured body with a large attractive frothy/bubbly tan head.
Aromas mainlly of toffee and caramel from the malts..some raion bread also.
Taste similar..with some nice rounded vanilla and chocolate thrown in..
Mouth feel is fine..maybe a tad over carbonated..but good to me.
I felt this was a nice beer..with lower alcohol than the expected versions.

Deep brown with a ruby hue, fairly clear with lots of carbonation. Topped with 3 fingers of beige head.
Dark toasty notes, a hint of clean linen, a little root beer cream.
Dark toasted malts, a hint of scotch, a hint of dunkel red hops, and rust. Yes, a fair amount of rust.
Light body, lots of soda like carbonation.
Got in Redding, CA Sept 16th 2016, drank the same night. The rust quality and light body made it not as enjoyable, but nice to find this style here by a local brewer.
