Canned 08/09/18
Appearance - Pours hazy and faded yellow-orange in color with an off-white, creamy looking half finger width head. Fair retention before dying down to a thin, broken layer of suds and a thin ring around the edge of the glass. Good lacing, with broken webbing decorating much of the glass.
Smell - Tangerine, white grapefruit, hint of apricot and spice.
Taste - More bitter on the tongue than the nose indicates, with white grapefruit pith being the most prominent character. Earthy, dirty undertone. Some tangerine zest. Finish is mostly that grapefruit pith bitterness that fades slowly in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Goes down easy enough, but sort of a dry, chalky finish.
Overall - Not much of a NE-Style IPA. No juicy character and much too bitter. Not a terrible beer overall, but it completely fails the style. Disappointing considering Lazy Hazy is a really good brew.

Pours a big bright orange juice haze mess with a thin white head.
Smell is tangerine, grapefruit, some sour mead type in the back.
Taste is a bit overly sweet and pretty 1-D overall. There are bittery citrusy notes, but it is overly watery in my opinion.
Mouthfeel is fair enough for the style, it is soft and fairly full. Certainly not a real star in the juicy field.
Overall this is a beer that might be worth trying in the tap room if you visit but is ultimately just another in the ever expanding field of mediocre NEIPAs. This brewery makes a delightful little NEIPA called Lazy Hazy and this beer doesn't come anywhere near that one in quality. Always nice to see brewers trying different flavors and I am a fan of them putting out some of those for us to sample, if you're not into sampling a brewer's experiment then I would avoid this one. Also if you are not familiar with this brewery I would avoid this one. But for a regular drinker of their beers this is an interesting little insight into what they might be working on as they prepare to move to a new brewing facility.
